Researcher(s) should comply with the following points which illustrate the mechanism of research formatting, organization, citation and bibliography preparation, in term of:

First: Research Formatting

  • Researcher(s) must adhere to the following points, which outline the mechanism for formatting, dividing, and citing research, and how to include sources and references, in terms of: Research Formatting Instructions The division of research in Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan Journal for Human and Social Studies includes the following points:
  • 1. The number of words in the research should not exceed (8,000) words, including abstracts in Arabic and English, references, sources, footnotes, and appendices- if any. If the number of words exceeds the permitted limit, the researcher shall pay an additional publication fee of (20) dollars or its equivalent in Jordanian dinars for each additional page of the research. 2. The abstract should not exceed (200) words. 3. The spacing between lines of research should be one space, and the margins should be one inch. 4. Research papers should be printed with one space between lines, with one inch margins. The font size for Arabic manuscripts in the text should be (13: Simplified Arabic), leaving a space of (3 cm) on the top and bottom, (2.5 cm) on the right side, and (2.5 cm) on the left side. 5. The font size of the English manuscripts should be (12: Times New Roman), leaving (3 cm) space at the top and bottom, (2.5 cm) on the right side, and (2.5 cm) on the left side. 6. The font size for Arabic manuscripts should be (15) bold for the main title, (14) bold for subtitles, and (10) bold for footnotes and appendices. 7. The font size for English manuscripts should be (13) bold for the main title, (12) bold for subtitles, and (10) bold for footnotes and appendices. 8. Illustrations and tables in research papers should be placed in their appropriate places and numbered appropriately. Each table must contain an explanatory title at the top, with a description of the table at the bottom. The same applies to illustrations. 9. The editorial board reserves the right to make any formal adjustments, such as font size and type, and line spacing, in such a way the fits in with the journal's guidelines. Research Division Instructions Publishing in Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan Journal for Human and Social Studies requires that the research contain a set of elements necessary for writing solid research. It also requires that the researcher conduct their research guided by dividing these elements according to the correct requirements for doing research, as stated below: • The title page must include: - The title of the research. - The name(s) of the researcher(s) in four parts. - The name of the principal researcher(s) should be included if the same research involves multiple researchers. - Their academic degrees. - The name of the institution the researcher(s) work(s) for. - Their email address, - The name of the country. • The body of the research: - The research should be written in a solid language: free of linguistic, grammatical, typographical or punctuation errors. - The research should include the following elements: 1. Research Title: It should be provided in Arabic, and translated into English, if the research is written in Arabic. It should be provided in English, and translated into Arabic, if the research is written in English. 2. Abstract: It should be provided in Arabic, if the manuscript is written in Arabic, and a translated abstract thereof in English, or vice versa, including: the research objective, methodology, main findings, recommendations, and keywords. 3. Introduction: This includes the following elements: the research topic, its problem, its questions, its objectives, its rationale for writing it, its methodology, its procedures, its framework, its divisions, its most important sources, and its most important results. 4. (Literature Review): Previous studies that intersect with the research/manuscript intended to be published, whether complete or partial. 5. Research titles are divided into a main title and subtitles, each with its own sequential presentation and interconnected content. The researcher must adhere to the font size and type specified in the afore-mentioned formatting and division instructions. 6. The conclusion at the end of the research, listing the most important findings and recommendations. 7. The alphabetically-ordered sources and references. 8. Charts and illustrative figures are included in the text, numbered sequentially, and their names and explanatory notes are written below them. 9. Tables are included in the text, numbered sequentially, and their names are written at the top. Explanatory notes are written below the table. 10. Appendices and indexes, if any, are included at the end of the research. Citation Instructions Researchers must adhere to the citation instructions for footnotes, according to the following technical specifications: 1. Font size for footnotes in research/manuscripts should be (10), with one inch of space between lines. 2- Numbering the footnotes sequentially on each page separately, placing the footnotes at the bottom of the page from (1) to (2) to (3)..., then the numbering on the next page is ordered from (1) to (2) to (3)... and so on throughout the research pages. 3- citing the footnotes according to the following procedure: - From old sources and references: Citations in the footnotes from old sources and references should include: the author’s last name (family name), the name of the writer/author and the year of death in the Hijri calendar, the name of the authored book, the name of the editor, the edition, the publishing house, the place of publication, the year of publication, and the part/page. - From modern sources and references: Citations in the footnotes from modern sources and references should include: the author's last name (family name), the author's name, the title of the authored book, the edition, the publishing house, the place of publication, the year of publication, and the part/page. - From a journal article: Citations in the footnotes from a journal article should include: the author's last name (family name), the authored book name, the title of the article, the name of the journal, the issue (volume), the year of publication, and the page number. - From a Master's or Doctoral Thesis: The footnotes of a Master's or Doctoral Thesis should include: the author's last name (family name), the author's name, thesis title, university name, city, country, year of publication, and the page number. - From a Web Page: The footnotes of a Web Page should include: the author's last name (family name), the author's name, the subject title, the date of publication, the site and place of publication, and the web link. - From an article in a newspaper or official publication: The citation in the footnotes of an article in an official newspaper or publication should include: The author's last name (family name), the name of the book, the title of the article, the name of the newspaper/publication, the year of publication, the day and month, and the article’s page. 4- Including Arabic and foreign sources and references: The academic publishing policy at Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan stipulates that the sources cited in the publications of Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan Journal for Human and Social Studies shall be as follows: 1. Written in Arabic for research published in Arabic, and ordered alphabetically. 2. Foreign references and sources for research published in Arabic shall be listed at the end of the Arabic sources and references. 3. Foreign references and sources for research published in a foreign language (English and French) must be written before references and sources written in Arabic.

Second: Research Elements & Organization

  • Research Elements & Organization This includes the following points:
  • Publishing research in Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan Journal for Human and Social Studies necessitates a group of elements needed to meet the requirements of conducting solid research alongside with itemizing these elements in pursuance of the correct requirements of doing research- as explained hereunder:
  • Providing an abstract in Arabic if the manuscript is written in Arabic and a translation thereof or vice versa. This should contain a general idea about the relevant research and its content, methodology, vision and a detailed account on its organization.
  • Providing an introduction including the following ideas: research subject, problems, questions, aims, justifications, methodology, procedures, framework, organization as well as major sources and outcomes.
  • Providing literature review that (fully or partially) intersects with the research/manuscript intended to be published.
  • Research shall be divided into a main title, sequentially-ordered and thematically- linked sub-titles provided that the researcher should take on board the font size and type as stipulated in the Regulations of Formatting and Organization (first item above).
  • Including a conclusion in the end of the research involving the main outcomes and the recommendations.
  • Including an alphabetically-ordered list of bibliography: (Sources and References).
  • Charts and illustrations are included into the text and sequentially ordered. Their names and explanatory descriptions are provided thereunder.
  • Tables are included into the text and sequentially ordered. Their names are provided on their top, whereas explanatory descriptions are provided thereunder.
  • Appendices and indexes- if any- are included in the end of the research.
