JNS is the official publication of the Scientific Society of Arab Nursing Faculties. The Scientific Society of Arab Nursing Faculties was established October 1998. The society works under the umbrella of the Union General of Arab Universities and is hosted by the Faculty of Nursing at Alzaytoonah University Amman/Jordan.

Currently, the society has 82 members from various colleges of nursing in the Arab countries that are active members and participate in all activities.

The society has three main committees: The Scientific Research and Development committee, Education and Student Training Committee and the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Committee.
The society relies on efforts and contributions of faculty members from various nursing schools to achieve its goal and objectives which are to strengthen the collaboration between nursing faculties. The society offers 2 awards of excellence for academic institutions and individuals of outstanding academic records.

Scope & Objectives

The Journal of Nursing Science is the official journal of the Scientific Society of Arab Nursing Faculties. It is a peer-reviewed journal that focuses predominantly on nursing and allied health sciences issues that are relevant to nursing in specific and health in general. The journal welcomes original articles that help to contributes to the ongoing development of nursing internationally and encourage unsolicited original manuscripts where nurses describe their work and document their experience and research. Authors are encouraged to develop a ‘global intelligence’ on nursing and to address audience by exploring beyond local or national interests to the more general, global application of the principles underlying their work. Background information on the local arrangements for nursing and health care in a country also provides useful context for this global readership. Issues related to leadership and Policysuch as professional regulation, innovations in practice, patient safety, quality assurance of nursing education, ethics, nurses’ and midwives’ work-life experiences, and the impact of globalization and technology on nursing and health and social policy are also welcomed.

Journal Overview

The Journal of Nursing Science is a forum and a resource for nurses in the region and all over the world. Authors are encouraged to present relevant local, regional and global issues for the international community. Nurses and allied health personnel can present and document their work in the following areas:

  • International, regional and local challenges that affect healthcare systems and nursing
  • Profession Regulation and governance, health and human resource development and workplace issues
  • Ethical and legal issues, patients and human rights
  • Innovations in practice, health services management, education and social policy
  • Qualitative and quantitative research methodologies and innovation
  • Nursing education systems necessary for the practice in future healthcare environments
  • Countries best practices and achievements

Publication Fees and Paid Method

At JNS, we believe in free access to research. To support this policy, authors of research papers will be asked by email to pay a publication fee of $200 upon acceptance of their paper.
